. . CREATIVE WEB ANTHILL . .

WE LISTEN

We know that you’ve come to us for our expertise, and experience tells us that we are at our most expert if we listen carefully to every great idea, every hope, every question. So that’s where we start.

WE CREATE

Working from the foundations we’ve built with you from our first steps we now start the detailed work of putting life over the bones of your site or application. Starting with Home Pages we flush out the inspirational work of step 2.

WE BUILD

We build sites with the same detail we design them with. Because we live and breathe both design and the web, we are uniquely capable of making sure that our designs are as useful on the web as they are easy on the eyes.

WE DEPLOY

Sending your site or application into the wild is an exciting and often profound moment in the little story we’ve been writing together. Whether Lazy Ant is your builder or your design partner, we’ll walk through the launch with you making sure every detail is in place.

HELLO, I AM LAZY ANDREAS.

    WHAT I WATCH

As you’ve probably noticed, I’m a Film Geek… I’m heavily into Directors and their works and I’m always interested in what Directors people tend to like.

My favourites are Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, David Cronenberg, Terry Gilliam, Alfred Hitchcock, Ken Russell, Gaspar Noe, Andrei Tarkovsky, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Kenneth Anger, Francis Ford Coppola.

  • MUSIC

    WHAT I LISTEN

The wonderful group from Liverpool – John, Paul, George and Ringo – The Beatles, is in my opinion one of the best things that have happened in music in the twentieth century.

I also love The Velvet Underground, The Rolling Stones, Talking Heads, The Clash, Sonic Youth, Steely Dan, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Ramones, Misfits and so many others…

    WHAT I READ

I came up with a list of 8 books that I consider must-reads from both contemporary and classic literature.

To Kill a Mockingbird (Harper Lee), The Great Gatsby (F. Scott Fitzgerald), Emma (Jane Austen), Jane Eyre (Charlotte Bronte), 1984 (George Orwell), Fahrenheit 451 (Ray Bradbury), Catch-22 (Joseph Heller), Cloud Atlas (David Mitchell).

    WHAT I SHOOT

As a photographer, I like to question everything. I like to understand how things work, why they are how they are, and how it affects what I do.

One of my latest ponderings really got me thinking, so I ran it past US based photographer Chase Jarvis for his opinion. Not only did he have his own take, but he also felt compelled to post the question on his blog.

About this Blog // Music was my first love. I like many music genres, but my favourites are punk rock, garage and indie music. Anyway, my most genuine passion, the one that eventually took over the others has been and still is cinema. During the last year I found out an other great love: Photography. Finally, there's literature. I never go to sleep before having read some pages of some book.

Continue reading

  • AN INTRODUCTION TO MODERNIZR FOR DESIGNERS

    AUTHOR: // CATEGORY: web design

It’s rare nowadays to find a web designer who can’t code his own designs. With so many resources online and in print that teach the basics of HTML and CSS, and due to the fact that these languages aren’t rocket science, there are now a lot of graphic designers who have at least basic knowledge of markup and styling.

But with an HTML and CSS foundation comes great responsibility. If an HTML or CSS feature doesn’t work in certain browsers, we need to ensure that we offer those browsers a secondary or fallback experience. Continue reading

This trend certainly doesn’t affect the overall web design, but as for user experience and content presentation infographics have blown the roof off new-age media. Never before has information been presented in such an easy-to-consume manner. Even if you barely understand the topic most infographics provide data, charts, and supporting imagery so that a 5 year old child could follow along Continue reading
